the frequencies used there, you should be able to listen to
their communications nearly as if you worked there yourself.

it is called duplex. all the receiver mics transmit on one frequency. there is a basestation unit that receives the mics and at that time re-transmits on an offset frequency. all the headsets listen on the offset frequency. that way all parties can talk and listen at the constant time. it is low power, so don’t expect to pick of the litter them up on your scanner at family.
